Fern Wells Heefner, age 91 years and 24 days, was born on December 14, 1926 in Pickton, TX and departed this life from Tomball, TX to be with her Lord on January 7, 2018. She was a long time resident of Houston, TX where she was employed by Marathon Oil Company for 39 years.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was baptized at age 15 and was a member of Berean Baptist Church, Garden Oaks Baptist Church, First Baptist Church Houston, and First Baptist Church Tomball during her lifetime. She was...

Fern Wells Heefner, age 91 years and 24 days, was born on December 14, 1926 in Pickton, TX and departed this life from Tomball, TX to be with her Lord on January 7, 2018. She was a long time resident of Houston, TX where she was employed by Marathon Oil Company for 39 years.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and was baptized at age 15 and was a member of Berean Baptist Church, Garden Oaks Baptist Church, First Baptist Church Houston, and First Baptist Church Tomball during her lifetime. She was very active in the Maranatha Class at First Baptist Church Houston.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sidney Heefner; parents, Fagan & Clovis Wells; sister, Zuella Herndon; and brother, Kenneth Wells.

She is survived by her son, Wesley Heefner and his wife Diann; grandchildren, Zachary and Allison Heefner; sister Duma Rutherford; sister-in-law, Margie Heefner; nephews and nieces Barry & Debbie Rutherford, Laurie Rutherford, Clint & Carol Patterson, Mike & Sheryl Jackson, Brian & Nellie Rutherford; great nephews and nieces, Eric Rutherford, Ryan & Keri Rutherford, and Kayla, Brandon, & Tyler Patterson and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079 followed by a committal service and family reception. A visitation will precede the funeral from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Serving as pallbearers are Barry Rutherford, Brian Rutherford, Eric Rutherford, Ryan Rutherford, Brandon Patterson and Tyler Patterson.
